Our privacy philosophy
FairMediate is designed so that we collect as little data as possible. Session creators sign in with a free account (email only). Invited participants join via a private link — no account needed. We don't track you across the web.
What data we collect
Conversation data
When you use FairMediate, your messages to the AI advocate are stored temporarily to facilitate the mediation process. This includes:
- Messages you send to your private advocate
- The context description you provide when creating a session
- Your responses to the mediator's proposal
Session metadata
We store basic session information to make the tool function:
- Session identifiers (random tokens, not tied to your identity)
- Dispute type selected (e.g., “couples,” “business”)
- Session status and timestamps
What we do NOT collect
- Phone numbers or physical addresses
- Payment details beyond what Stripe processes (we never see your card number)
- IP addresses for identification purposes
- Cookies for tracking or advertising
How we use your data
Conversation data is used exclusively to:
- Facilitate the mediation process (advocate conversations, mediator proposals, party responses)
- Generate the mediator's summary and proposal
- Display the final agreement to both parties
We do not use your conversation data to train AI models, serve advertising, build user profiles, or for any purpose beyond facilitating your mediation session.
Data retention and deletion
All session data — including conversations, proposals, and agreements — is automatically deleted 30 days after the session is created. Sessions that are abandoned (no activity for 7 days) may be deleted sooner.
There is no way to recover deleted data. If you want to keep a record of your agreement, save or screenshot it before the 30-day window closes.
Data security
Conversations are encrypted in transit using TLS. We use industry-standard security practices to protect stored data. Access to session data is restricted to the automated systems that facilitate the mediation process.
Third-party services
FairMediate uses third-party AI providers to power the advocate and mediator conversations. When you send a message, it is processed by these providers to generate responses. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the service.
Your rights
- Account deletion: You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Session data is automatically removed after 30 days regardless.
- Data export: We don't build profiles. Your account stores only your email and display name.
- Marketing: We don't send marketing emails or market to individuals.
If you have questions about your data or want to request early deletion of a specific session, email us at contact@fairmediate.com.
Children's privacy
FairMediate is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date. Because we don't collect contact information, we cannot notify users directly of changes.
